As a child, I sometimes went to work with my father. I remember the paper, the typesetting and the smell of the printing press, and later becoming absorbed in how a newspaper page came together. I wanted to be part of that world. I still get that feeling when someone tells me about what they make. I want to understand how it’s made, why it looks the way it does, and what matters to them. Their enthusiasm tends to rub off on me. The more I understand, the more I want other people to feel some of what I’m feeling.

I’m an independent graphic designer and art director based in Copenhagen, working across visual identities, books, images and other forms of visual communication. I chose independence because I wanted to have those conversations myself. Sometimes the work is about defining a whole visual language; sometimes it’s about helping an existing one evolve while keeping its character. I look for an idea that gives the work direction, then reduce, adjust and test until it feels clear enough to stand on its own. I like design that is precise without feeling rigid, and simple without becoming anonymous. I work closely with clients and bring in collaborators when their perspectives or skills help the project.

I share the studio with Uffe, my office dog.
